Air Travel Rules: Flying With Your Pet

When it comes to the air travel life, a big number of individuals hit the skies daily. People fly for all various reasons. Some others need to make a business trip, others are visiting acquaintances or family, others are going on vacation, and some are making a cross country move. If you are moving, there is a good chance that you may require to bring your pet along with you. If this is the dillema, you will find that you are subject to a whole new set of air travel rules. Before leaving for the airport, with your pet or pets in tow, you are advised to famialrize yourself with those rules.

The first step in traveling, in the air, with a pet is to make sure that they are even permitted. Certain pets are allowed to be on airplanes, but that does not mean that all airlines will permit it. If you are contemplating on traveling with your pet, you will need to inform your airline of this information upfront. This is critical because not all airlines will allow you to bring a pet onboard. Therefore, if you do not check with your airline before departing to the airport, you may be unable to board your flight. Word of note, pets are not listed on the travel itinerary!

When traveling with a pet, you will require to keep that pet contained. That means that if you are traveling with an animal, such as a dog or a feline, that animal will likely need to be in a small cage. When purchasing an animal carrier, it is important to know that not all cages are permitted onboard. If you will be keeping your pet in the cabin with you, as opposed to having your animal treated as checked baggage, you will need to make sure that your pet carrier will not negatively affect other passengers. Your pet carrier must not block aisle ways or encroach on other passenger’s seating locations. In addition to these guided rules and restrictions, you may find that each airline has their own set of pet carrier rules.

Almost all airlines require that your pets have the proper documents before being allowed on their airplanes. These documents most commonly include information on your pet’s well being. Most airlines require that your pet take a medical evaluation before being transported by airplane. This information is not only used to make sure that your pet is healthy enough to fly, but is also used to ensure that they are protected with the proper vaccinations. Correct vaccinations will not only protect your pet, but other passengers, as well as airline staff.

Once you have received clearance from the airline, which you wish to fly on, bought the appropriate pet equipment, and obtained the proper check ups for your pet, you will need to wait until your day when leaving for travel town. On that day, you will want to arrive at the airport a little bit earlier than recommended. This will assist to ensure that you could quickly figure out a problem, without having to miss your flight, should one arise.

When you and your pet arrive at the airport, whether it be early or not, you will both need to go through airport security. Your pet will need to pass through a metal detector, just like others. If you are using a pet carrier, it is also appropriate that your pet carrier will be subject to testing. This examination most probably includes being sent though the x-ray machine with your carryon luggage; however, it is imperative to note that your pet will not have to go through the x-ray machine; the metal detector should be sufficient.

As previously described, not all airlines allow their passengers to board with their pets, even in the cabin or below deck. That is for this reason it is advised that you find out whether or not your pet can fly with you, ahead of time. Adding to the different air travel rules, you may also find that some airlines charged extra fees for pet passengers. In case you are charged, you will be notified of this charge ahead of time.

A simple step to curbing food addiction naturally

You will go through life meeting people who will give you 10 ways to stop food cravings, 7 strategies to curb your food addiction, six ways to that and 5 tips to this and that and when they are gone – with your money - they will leave you broke and still addicted to food.

You see as, people we are driven by needs, we live our lives in pursuit of something. Sometimes we may not know what it is but we know we are not content. Opportunists know this and they thrive on it. They thrive on this human weakness of always looking for something more. Why do you think there are so many versions of a software, sequels of a movie, added ingredients on a face lotion and what have you.

The second thing that these opportunist thrive on is people’s desire for instant gratification. For someone living with food addiction, he or she may buy a health pack that promises to help stop food cravings instantly simple because it promises quick delivery. When it fails to do that, the very person who was selling the health pack will come back with another “new and improved” pack in a matter of days to get your next month’s paycheck.

People living with food addiction are known to be desperate and willing to try anything to stop. This is why I say, food addiction can have financial consequences not only through buying expensive junk food but also in trying to stop them by applying the wrong methods.

I believe a simple step to curbing food cravings naturally is sitting yourself down and having a serious talk with yourself. This sounds silly but you’d be surprised to know how many people actually do this in their own private space. Even well known speakers are known to talk to themselves in the bathroom or bedroom before a big presentation. So sit yourself in front of a mirror and confront yourself.

Once you start opening you will start to discover things you did not really know about you. Depending on where the conversation goes, you will start to identify your food craving triggers and will find solutions about what to do to prevent it. As long as you don’t take this lightly it can work.

By the way I suggest you keep a diary of your conversations as a point of reference later on. It is so inspiring to read something you wrote years back and to realize that you have actually achieved what you set out to achieve.

In essence, what I am trying to say is, you have it all within you to stop your food addictions. Of course you will need to gain some knowledge about your body and your food craving triggers. In some instances finding a good mentor might even be a necessity.

Curbing food cravings naturally does not happen overnight - so be patient. Find the right support group such as people at work, forums online, mentors etc who will understand and help you on your quest.
