Slow golf swing is not a problem for most people, as new golfers will more than likely have a golf swing that is to fast.
Like most things in life, the first step to fixing a problem, is by recognizing it. Now that you have done so, comes the task of slowing your golf swing down to a powerful, yet controllable level. One of the easiest ways to correct over-swinging, is by doing a count while you’re swinging your club. Count in three beats, 1-2-3, by the third you should be at the top of your backswing.
If you keep this tempo at a regular and steady pace, than your golf swing will improve dramatically, although, make sure that this tempo isn’t too fast. Allow your body to swing naturally, but with force. However, there are other golf swing tips that will help you slow down your swinging pace.
The first, make sure not to concentrate too hard on delivering a hugely powerful and intense swing. By filling your mind with these types of thoughts, you will inevitably hit the ball with way too much force and ultimately you’ll loose the control that’s needed for a dynamic, and accurate, swing.
If you were to think about the force you expel onto the golf club in percentages, 1% would be letting the club hit the ground and 100% would be way too forceful. The ideal energy output with your swing is around 80%, by keeping your energy exertion at this level, you will be allowing your body to stay in control of your movement, while still delivering a powerful blow to the golf ball.
